Missing MSFS 2002 Canadian NDBs Version 3.0

*This version supplants all previous releases and includes many missing Eastern Canadian NDBs. As a bonus, it also includes a fix for Vancouver's ILS 26L (the default frequency for 26L is incorrect), as well as a mini-tutorial on how to add missing NDBs*

Project Progress:

============================================================================================

-----------------
27 November 2001:
-----------------

i) Default ILS frequency for 26L and Vancouver is now correct. The correct frequency is 110.7, not 109.5.

ii) New NDBs added:

Sierra (CYYT)
Oscar (CYYT)
Juliett (CYJT)

New Brunswick:

Juliett (CYSJ)
Saint Johns (CYSJ)
Foxtrot (CYQM)

Nova Scotia:

Juliett (CYHZ)
Golf (CYHZ)

Quebec (CYQY)

Prince Edward Island:

Quebec:

----------------
4  November 2001:
----------------

i) Missing NDBs are now inserted directly into the MSFS 2002 scenery files that store NDB data. This method is much 'cleaner' than the method used in the last version, which relied on creating a single BGL for each beacon.

ii) Now able to tune and identify the Kelowna beacon on the ground at Kelowna.

iii) Now able to tune and identify the White Rock beacon on the ground at Boundary Bay.

iv) Now able to tune and identify the Mill Bay beacon on the ground at Victoria.

v) Beacons now look like MS2002's default beacons, not Airport 2.60's default NDBs.

vi) Vancouver's 'Victor' NDB and Winnipeg's 'Golf' NDB were off by a couple hundred feet. This is now corrected.

vii) NDB range increased for the default Kelowna (LW) and Edmonton (XD) beacons.

viii) New NDBs added:

Saskatchewan:

Xray (CYXE)
Echo (CYXE)
Tango (CYXE)
Saskatoon (CYXE)
Quebec (CYQR)
Juliet (CYQR)
Yankee (CYQR)
Regina (CYQR)
Alpha (CYPA)
Prince Albert (CYPA)

Manitoba:

Ontario:

Thunder Bay (CYQT)
Tango (CYQT)
Yankee (CYYB)

Installation:

============================================================================================

Note: It's good practise to make a back-up copy of any files you overwrite. If you accidently delete important files, you shoulder all responsibility.

-------
STEP 1:
-------

IF YOU PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED THE MISSING BGL'S FROM VERSION ONE DO THE FOLLOWING. IF NOT, SKIP TO STEP TWO:

Go to your scenery folder:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\scenery

CAREFULLY DELETE all the old BGLs you installed from Version One. There are 24 of them in total. They all start with the letter 'Y' and are in upper case. (So long as you haven't added many other scenery files to your scenery folder, these files should be very easy to identify.)

Example files: YEGE.bgl, YVRV.bgl, YYCX.bgl, YYZL.bgl

If you don't delete these files, you will have replicate NDBS littering your scenery.

DELETE THESE FILES SLOWLY AND CAUTIOUSLY. MAKE SURE YOU ARE DELETING THE RIGHT FILES!

-------
STEP 2:
-------

Files in this zip should be individually and carefully extracted to the appropriate folders (click 'OK' to overwrite the old BGLs). Pay close attention to the folder names. It's easy to extract the file to the wrong folder:

Canwils.bgl --------->
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\SCENEDB\Westhem\canw\Scenery

Canwndb.bgl --------->
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\SCENEDB\Westhem\canw\Scenery

Cancndb.bgl --------->
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\SCENEDB\Westhem\canc\Scenery

Canendb.bgl --------->
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\SCENEDB\Westhem\cane\Scenery

Usnwndb.bgl --------->
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\SCENEDB\Westhem\usnw\Scenery

(Note: For some reason, MS put the White Rock and Mill Bay beacons (which I both modified) in Washington State, hence the US North West NDB file.)

Other Notes:
------------

1. These NDBs will not appear in your GPS or Flight Planner.
2. The change in Vancouver's ILS 26L frequency is not reflected on the 'Map' screen that displays navaid info. Accordingly, disregard the frequency listed for the ILS 26L (109.5), as it is incorrect. Instead, use the correct frequency: 110.7.
3. Please report any errors or missing beacons.
